Author K.M. Kennedy Announces the Release of Middle Grade Book “The
Sound Prince and the Pocket Dragon”
Isle of
Palms, SC November 15, 2016 – What
happens when fun turns to fright? What does bravery and boldness have in
common? A graduate of Gonzaga University, a career artist and illustrator,
Author K.M. Kennedy answers these questions in the release of her first book in
the Middle Grade Fantasy Series: The
Sound Prince and the Pocket Dragon. She captures the fun and friendly
nature of children embracing the magical world without preconceptions and
judgement.
The book’s main character is Devon. He is an eleven year old
Prince from the San Juan Islands and Pacific Northwest. When his ordinary
island begins to change in small magical ways his curiosity is stimulated. Why
is the wind talking? Where did the dragon come from? Are there other strange
creatures? Kennedy weaves a compelling story as Devon and the pocket dragon
named Iz travel on a quest to find answers. They meet magical and mystical
creatures along the way and learn about courage and friendship.
Kennedy’s
storyline is about the hidden world between land and sea. D. Donovan, Senior
Reviewer, Midwest Book Review said, “A delightful read… the story’s winding
complexity is most definitely not a light picture book production, it includes
gorgeous drawings and a plot replete with humor fantasy, adventure and fun,
making it a recommendation beyond its middle school readership, extending to
elementary levels as well.”
The Sound Prince and
the Pocket Dragon will open new fans to a new hero who
challenges their thinking and tickles their heart. For more information and to
